June 2006 North Fork Sidewalk Celebration

2008 ANNUAL SIDEWALK CELEBRATION

Our local naturalist Joanne Freemire teaches leaf printing on tee shirts.
Young and old alike enjoyed this craft.

The Annual Sidewalk Celebration, held in June on the Main Street of North Fork includes artist-vendor booths and hands-on art opportunities for "want-to-be" artists.

Contests in mural painting and auto-decorating as well as sidewalk chalk-art are also held.

Professional musicians provide the ambience for singing and dancing in the streets.

GATHERING OF THE MUSICIANS

The annual Frank Logar Gathering of the Musicians each Fall brings music to an open-air theatre setting for music lovers to sit and eat in a surround-sound of Blue Grass, Dixieland, Folk Singing and a variety of instrumental and vocal presentations which raise funds for scholarships.

FALL FESTIVAL & THE ANNUAL GRIZZY RUN

Each year the entire town takes part in the annual Grizzly, a 100 kilometer bicycle run through the Sierra By-Ways Trail in the central California mountains.

NFAC has its annual competitive Fine Arts & Photography Show as well.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR & ART SALES

Small towns depend on big-hearted folk and the NFAC is happy to be included in the enormously popular Bazaar held each December at the North Fork Town Hall.

Arts, Crafts, Baked Goods and Flea Market opportunities abound in this come together celebration.

YOUNG MASTERS FINE ART SHOW

School grades 1 - 12 are represented in a gallery showing of fine art by the young people.

This is also an opportunity for members of NFAC to accrue credits in Judging as they understudy the professional judges participating in this exciting contest that encourages up-and-coming artists in all media to shine, show and sell.

SIERRA ART TRAILS

Many of the NFAC artists open their studios for the annual Sierra Art Trails which provides the public a special weekend opportunities to visit over 100 studios of mountain artists in the Sierra.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

NFAC enjoys being represented in various Hands Across the Borders project and arts and cultural exchanges with other nations.
